Other works followed on in 1951 and will be referred
to in my next report.
Food premises in Surbiton are now on the whole
reasonably equipped and conducted with due regard to hygienic
principles, and I think they compare more than favourably
with most towns in the country. This does not mean that
there is no room for further improvement, but rather that
we are up with the standards of the day, and I hope we shall
continue to move forward when those standards progress to
the higher plane which public opinion is beginning to demand#
