CONCLUSION.
As predicted in my last report, results achieved during
the year under review proved to be most satisfactory.
Supported by an enthusiastic stsff and free from
disorganising influences such as frequent changes in personnel,
I found that work proceeded with smoothness and efficiency. It
was even found possible to resume inspections under the Housing
Consolidated Regulations, and a good start was made in gutting
war-neglected properties re-instated to a reasonable condition.
In submitting this report I feel that something
approaching the limits of achievement with the present
establishment has been reached. In these uncertain times it
ib is probably too much to hope for a repetition of the wholly
favourable circumstances which obtained during 1949 and enabled
this standard to be set.
I am, Mr. Mayor, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
H.J. RIRIDGE.
Senior Sanitary Inspector.
