It will be noticed that in the second Maintenance Treatment more manholes were pre-"baited in Area 6 than
in the first Maintenance Treatment0 This is so because whilst dealing with the surface infestations evidence of
rr,infestestation was found in two lengths of sewers in this particular area, and these two lengths were treated when
tiv.Second Maintenance Treatment was carried out. Also throe. anholes in Area 5 which had rot been inspected
previousal asly were baited whilst the second Maintenance Treatment was carried out.
With regard to the. first Maintenance Treatment, the results in Area 2 were considered disappointing as
there were only 8 partial takes of poison bait after 24 complete takes of pre-bait.
it was decided tnerefore,
with the aporoval of the Ministry of Agriculture & Fisheries (Rodent Control Branch) to carry out a special
Maintenance Treatment of this particular area, the results being as follows:-
Special Maintenance Treatment Area 2„
No Manholes
