INFANT MORTALITY.
There were 39 deaths of children under 1 year of age,
which is an increase of 11 compared with the number for the previous
year. 38 were legitimate and 1 illegitimate.
Of the infant deaths, 21 occurred in hospitals or public
institutions outside the district of Surbiton. The ages at death
were as follows:-
One at 6 hours, 7 hours, 9 hours, 10 hours, 11 hours, 12
hours, 16 hours, two weeks, three months, six months, eight months,
ten months; two at one day, five days, one month, two months, four
months, five months, eleven months; three at three weeks; four at
one week; six at two days.
