Annual Report of
The Medical Officer of Health for 1934
Public Health Department,
Council Offices,
Surbiton.
June, 1935.
To the Chairman and Members of the Urban District
Council of Surbiton
Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the pleasure of presenting to you my
13th Annual Report, dealing with all matters appertaining
to the health and sanitary condition of the
Urban District of Surbiton.
As laid down by the Ministry of Health Circular
1417, this report is an Ordinary Report and not a
Survey Report.
The development of the District is still maintained,
and the population for mid-year 1934 was
38,050, an increase of 2,910 on the previous year.
The number of inhabited houses has gone up
from 9,866 to 11,068, the development taking place
in the outlying areas of the District.
This year a factor for comparing the death rate
of Surbiton with that of any place in England and
Wales has been given by the Registrar General.
