LEGAL PROCEEDINGS.
(1) Legal proceedings were taken in respect of
a serious case of overcrowding and the Magistrates
made an Order to abate the nuisance within one
month.
(2) In co-operation with the National Society
for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children three
children were removed from a dwelling-house in the
district to a hospital for medical care and attention,
and the occupier was subsequently prosecuted and
committed to prison for one month.
MORTUARY.
The mortuary situate in Alpha Road is well
equipped and maintained. During the year sixteen
bodies have been received, sixteen post mortems
carried out, and sixteen inquests held.
