The statistics supplied by the Registrar General
show that during 1935 the total number of registered
live births belonging to Surbiton amounted to 699
(374 males, 325 females). Birth Rate 17.46.
There were 17 illegitimate births (9 male, 8
female), this number representing 2.43% of the total
births. In addition there were 20 still births representing
2.78% of the total births (live and still).
Out of the total 699 live births there was only one death of a mother, thus giving a very low rate, which is a great improvement on the figure for last year.
