tions are given to the householder of measures to
be taken by thoroughly cleansing rooms and boiling
clothes and bedding. A card is handed to the
householder giving full particulars of these
measures. Special provisions are made for disinfection
after such cases as Enteric Fever, and also
for the disinfection of books and toys. Where,
however, a disinfection is requested by the doctor
or parents after a case of notifiable disease it is
carried out by this Department free of charge. It
would be premature at the moment to comment
upon the working of this scheme.
In March, Mr. Cyril Wilson, the senior
additional Sanitary Inspector, left to take the post
of Senior Sanitary Inspector at Cheshunt, and I
should here like to record my appreciation of his
work during the last seven years.
My thanks are once again due to Mr.
McClelland and all the other members of the Public
Health Department for their loyal and conscientious
service during 1938.
I am,
Ladies and Gentlemen
Your obedient Servant,
NEVILLE H. LINZEE,
Medical Officer of Health.
