Many of the children were found to have large tonsils and
adenoids, a great predisposing factor in infection by Scarlet Fever.
Attention is called to the 10 cases found peeling on admission,
thus increasing the difficulty of eradicating the disease, for much
infection is spread during the early stage of the illness, before it has
been recognised.
