Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Seventeenth
Annual Report relating to the year ended December 31st,
1905.
VITAL STATISTICS.
For the purposes of statistics the population is always
calculated for the middle of the year.
At the census taken April 1st, 1901, our population was
.27,354, being an increase since the previous census of 5,669.
On the supposition that the rate of increase has been maintained,
the population in the middle of 1905 may be approximately
estimated at 29,788.
