Borough of Bromley
REPORT OF THE MEDICAL OFFICER OF HEALTH
FOR THE YEAR 1911.
To the Mayor and Corporation of Bromley.
March 25th, 1912.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to present to you my Twenty-Third
Annual Report, relating to the year ended December 31st, 1911.
POPULATION.
At the Census taken April 2nd, 1911, our population was
33,649.
In 1811 our population was under 3,000. The first considerable
increase was between the years 1861 and 1871, when
the population increased from 5,500 to 10,674.
Since that time, up to 1901, our increase has averaged
about 5,500 for the ten years.
Our increase in the decade 1901—1911 is 6,291, so it will
be seen that the growth of the population in Bromley has
been well maintained.
