Girls' Department.
Classrooms.—The artificial lighting has been slightly improved
but is still unsatisfactory throughout the school. Electric lighting should
be installed. In room 3 the skylights should be made to open. In
room 3 and in the "middle classroom the natural lighting comes mainly
from the back of the room. The partition screens provided in this
school do not reach the floor, causing the rooms thus divided to be
very draughty. In room 6 there is a dark dado.
Desks.—A large number of the old type of desks are in use
and should be replaced by dual or single desks.
The flooring in the passages and several classrooms is irregular

of the rooms and have provided efficient cross-ventilation.

not been whitewashed. This is urgently needed. No flush is provided
for the urinals.
