its southern side. The District is divided into four
wards, viz., Fulwell, Upper Teddington, Lower
Teddington, and South Teddington. The Fulwell
Ward is situated at the western end of the District, and
the South Teddington Ward at the eastern end.
The number of inhabited houses at the time of the
Census of 1901 was 2,754. In the middle of the year
1906 there were 3,509 inhabited houses. Of late years a
great many new houses have been erected in Teddington,
more especially in the Fulwell and South Teddington
Wards.

The following table shows the enumerated population of the District at the last Census in 1901, and at the previous Census in 1891, and also> the estimated population in June 1900.

The estimated population of your District is based
upon the number of inhabited houses in the District at
the end of June, 1906. multiplied by the average number
of persons per house which obtained at the date of the
last Census.
BIRTHS.
The births of 438 children were registered in your
District during 1900, which gives a birth-rate on the
estimated population of 25.76 per 1,000 living. Of
