Scarlet Fever. Scarlet Fever of a mild type has been present during the
whole year, 98 cases having been notified against 155 last year,
a satisfactory decline of 57, and this with an increased estimated
population of 3,000. Of these cases 61 were treated at the
Infectious Diseases Hospital, the remainder at their homes.
In several instances the cases were imported from other
districts, one case in point, being that of a young man visiting
Wimbledon friends on the Sunday, feeling unwell, sought
medical advice, was found to be suffering from Scarlet Fever,
notified as such and removed to the Isolation Hospital.
