Scarlet Fever.
This disease has been present during the whole of the
year. It prevailed extensively during the months of January,
February, October and November. There has been a large
number of cases in the Metropolis, and many of the cases
notified in the district were imported from London. The
disease has been of a mild type, and only two deaths were
registered from it during the year, one of which occurred at
the Infectious Diseases Hospital, the other at the patient's
home.
The total number of cases notified was 155, of which 94
were treated in the Infectious Diseases Hospital and the
remainder in their own homes. The proportion amongst
