Small-pox.] Two cases of small-pox were notified during the year,
both of which were imported.
The first was that of a man aged 45 years, which was
notified in February ; this case, which was of a very malignant
type, had not been previously vaccinated. He was removed
to the Infectious Diseases Hospital where he died six days
after admission. A11 the necessary precautions were taken
to prevent the spread of the disease; the other members of
the family (five in number, and two of whom had never been
vaccinated) were vaccinated at once; isolated for three
