Borough of Wimbledon.
EDUCATION COMMITTEE.
ANNUAL REPORT
OF THE
SCHOOL MEDICAL OFFICER
FOR THE
Year ended 31st December, 1919.
To the Members of the Education Committee
of the Ho rough of Wimbledon.
Ladies and Gentlemen.
I beg to present my Annual Report for tlie year 1919 with
regard to the Medical Work accomplished in the Public
Elementary Schools in Wimbledon.
Tlie Age-Groups examined have been:—
1. Entrants, ages 5 or over;
2. Intermediates, ages 8-9;
3. Leavers, ages 12 or over.
The Staff.
On 28th April, Nurse Cracknell and Nurse Holman
resumed their duties after four years' service in the Army. The
work in connection with the treatment and inspection of
children and the increased work in the Dental and Ophthalmic
Departments have taken up a considerable amount of time,
and I think it will be necessary at no distant date to give some
extra nursing assistance in order that the following up of cases
may be fully carried out. Mrs. Potts now gives her whole time
to tlie examination of heads and bodies for nits and vermin.
119 cases were cleaned by her and returned to school.
