Borough of Wimbledon.
Gentlemen,
I beg to submit to you my Report of the work carried out
in my Department for the year ended 31st December, 1919.
Table V. gives a summary in detail of the various nuisances
abated and sanitary improvements effected.
Notices Served.—One thousand and thirty-two Preliminary
Notices or intimations were served during the year in
respect of 960 houses, and it was only found necessary to serve
145 Statutory Notices upon the owners or occupiers of 156
houses.
In three instances the owners failed, after repeated informal
requests, to comply with the Statutory Notices requiring
the remedying of certain nuisances. As a consequence,
