Enteric or Typhoid Fever.—During the year 14 persons
in eleven different houses were notified as suffering from this
disease, equal to an attack rate of '22 per thousand of the
population.
The following was the Ward incidence: —
St. Mary's 2
Trinity 5
Haydon Park 7
The cases occurred at the following times: —
May 1
July 3
August 1
September 3
October 1
November 3
December 2
There were no deaths.
Puerperal Fever.—Five cases were notified during the
year, which is equal to an attack rate of 08 per thousand of
the population.
Three of the cases were treated at the Isolation Hospital
and recovered.
There were two deaths, corresponding to a death-rate of
.03 per thousand of the population.
Whooping Cough. — There were no deaths from this
disease.
Erysipelas.—There were 20 cases notified during the year
from 20 houses, corresponding to an attack rate of .32 per
thousand of the population, and there were two deaths which
is equal to a death-rate of 03 per thousand of the population.
Influenza.—This disease was certified as the cause of 62
deaths, corresponding to a death-rate of 1.03 per thousand of
the population. Last year there were 144 and in 1917 there
were 16.
The deaths were distributed through the Wards as
