say that he is advised that where a shopkeeper, in the circumstances
described above, changes the day of the weekly half
holiday in Christmas week to Saturday and reverts to the ordinary
day in the following week, such change would constitute a single
change only for the purposes of Section 4 (3). In the case of
shops for which an Order has been made, the right to change the
day will be subject to any conditions imposed by such Order.
As regards the assistants' half holiday, the shopkeeper will
not be required to give it in the week preceding Christmas, if he
gives them a whole holiday on Christmas Day and a half holiday
or a whole holiday on Boxing Day. He should, if Saturday is not
the ordinary day for the assistants' half holiday, put up a notice
in his shop in the official form saying that in Christmas week
Boxing Day will be a half (or whole) holiday.
