METEOROLOGY.
The observations given below are extracted from the weekly
reports of observations taken at Greenwich Observatory, a course
justified by the geographical position of the Borough immediately
to the North of Greenwich. They show that the registered sunshine
of the year was 1,335.8 hours, being 251 hours less than in 1912.
The hottest day was 17th June, when the temperature reached
871 degrees, and the coldest day was 23rd February, when it sank to
242 degrees. The number of rainy days was 174, the total rainfall
of the year being 22.51 inches. The greatest daily fall occurred on
26th October, when 0 78 inch fell.
