The above observations were made by the Council's Inspector
under the Shop Hours Act, but in addition 19 lists of observations
were received from the Coal-Smoke Abatement Society and considered
by the Public Health Committee.
Mortuaries.—The three mortuaries received 354 bodies during
1909, the number during the previous year being 344. The circumstances
connected with their admission and retention are set out
below:—
