The Enteric Ward is further East, and has similar
accommodation for twenty-three patients.
An External Staircase, situated, as described, on the Scarlet
Fever side, leads to the first-floor balcony, giving access to the upper
floors of both the Diphtheria and Enteric Pavilions.
To the South-east and South of the infected pavilions are
The General Administrative Buildings.
At the South corner of the site, at the corner of Samson
Street and New Road, is
The Home for Nurses and Female Servants.
On the ground floor are separate flats for the Medical Superintendent
and the Assistant 'Medical Officer, the Matron and Under Matron.
To the North-east is
The Kitchen Block, having convenient access to the
dining room of the Home, and, by means of the covered way, access
to all the pavilions.
The Steward's Stores are near to and on the North-east
side of the kitchen, and access to this by carts is provided from the
main entrance. The Steward's residence is over the stores.
Workshops with Residences over for Four Male
Servants are to the East of the kitchen conveniently near for food
service.
The Laundry is at the Eastern part of the site. Foul linen
is brought by trollies over the covered ways or paths from all parts of
the Hospital to the receiving yard, in which is a steeping tank.
The Boiler Room it is proposed to place under the laundry;
The Engine Room being attached above ground.
The Disinfector and Refuse Incinerator are at the
South-east of the laundry.
