Shops Hours ct.—The offences under these Acts are
practically two—the employment of a young person in or about a
shop for more than 74 hours, including meal times, and failure to
exhibit the statutory notice. Most of the offenders discovered last
year were cautioned by your Council, as a universal ignorance of the

provisions of the Act appeared to prevail among shopkeepers.
