In every Ward, except the Northern, the numbers given of the total
existing houses exceed the possible, as may be gathered by comparing
the total number given, for instance, in the St. James Street Ward for
the years 1905 and 1906.
The latter year shows 51 fewer houses than the former, although two
were added since 1905.
With the reservation that the figures are approximate only, they are
valuable. The information as afforded for 1908 and previous years is
given in the following table:—
