As compared with 1919, there was, by the number
indicated in brackets an increase in deaths from the
following diseases :
Zymotic diseases (which include the common infectious
diseases) (7); Pneumonia (8); violence and suicide (8);
Alcoholism and cirrhosis of the liver produced three deaths,
as compared with two last year, and an average of 7.3 for
the 10 years prior to 1916.
There was (by the number indicated) a diminution in
the deaths from influenza (25), pulmonary consumption (7)
and cancer (11).
Following were the principal death rates per 1,000 of
the population:

Tuberculosis (All forms) 0.83
Cancer 1.19
