Twickenham Urban District Council.
Public Health Department,
Radnor House,
Twickenham,
June, 1921.
To the Chairman and Members of the
Twickenham Urban District Council.
Gentlemen,
I have the honour to submit my Annual Report on the
health and sanitary conditions of the District, together
with the measures taken to safeguard and improve the
health of the inhabitants.
The report has been written in accordance with the
form and under the headings directed by the Ministry of
Health, and a perusal of these will indicate the many and
varied aspects of public health administration which is
now entrusted to the Local Authority.
The Housing Scheme has at last reached the stage of
erection of houses and a small number were nearing
completion at the end of the year. The work of caring for
the health of mothers and young children has been actively
followed up and the transfer of the Heath Road Maternity
and Child Welfare Centre to Radnor House has much
facilitated and improved the conditions under which the
duties of that Centre were carried out. A house and
grounds have been bought for adaptation for the purposes
of a Maternity Home, but arrangements for its use had not
been completed when the year ended.
