Notification of Births Act.—Passing to a record of work
done, it may be noted that 497 births were notffied, being about 91 per
cent, of the number registered. Of those notified, 22 referred to stillbirths,
the proportion of these to the births registered being about one
in twenty-five.
The Health Visitors paid the following visits during the year.
To expectant mothers—nil.
To infants under one year of age, 363 first visits paid. Visits
were continued at intervals in a considerable number of cas^s until the
children reached two years of age. The total visits and revisits paid
during the year numbered no less than 3,306.
