In only one case was there an infringement of the Act
with respect to overcrowding, and this was remedied on the
attention of the occupier being drawn to it without resource
to the serving of a notice. The Home OiHce Inspector has
notified a few minor defects which were discovered in the
course of inspections, and which have been attended to. I
venture to submit that the very few notices from the
Government Inspector indicates a very satisfactory condition
of the work places throughout the district.
In every case were outworkers have been employed
notices have been sent to the respective districts in which
they reside, and in accordance with the statute other Local
Authorities have notified to me in a similar manner. All
outworkers are duly registered for reference in case of an
outbreak of infectious disease.

The following is a list of the factories, workshops and work places inspected during the year, number of employees therein, and particulars as to nuisances or sanitary defects discovered:—
