Housing of the Working Classes Act.
I had occasion to report to the Council respecting
7 houses being in such a condition as in my opinion to be
unfit for human habitation. Notices were served in
pursuance of the statute and in every case the Owners
complied with the requirements demanded of them by the
Council without recourse to legal proceedings.
Water Closets.
There were 239 cottages which were deemed to
be without a sufficient water closet accommodation by
reason of there being no water laid on for flushing
purposes. In all these cottages the requirements have
been complied with. This matter is still receiving my
attention and that of the Sanitary Inspectors.
