Wales.
Infantile Mortality.— This subject is just now
attracting a great deal of attention on all hands, as it
is a field wherein a great deal should and can be
done locally to prevent the frightful waste of infant
life that goes on in this country year by year everywhere,
but of course more especially in the larger
towns where women who are mothers have to be
workers out of the home. A reference to Table V.
shows 6 deaths from Diarrhoea and 9 from Enteritis,
or 15 deaths in all, under one year of age. The
Enteritis here registered is mostly described as
muco-enteritis, or gastro-enteritis, and in children
