After the rooms have been disinfected, the wall
papers are stripped off when judged to be necessary
and burnt, and ceilings, walls and woodwork
thoroughly washed.
The bedding and such contents of room as are
considered requisite to be disinfected are taken to
the steam disinfecting apparatus at the Isolation
Hospital.
For purposes of removal to and fro, two special
vans, the property of the Council, are used, one for
infected and the other for the disinfected articles.
Dairies, Cowsheds, and Milkshops.— The
various inspections required under the Acts, and the
alterations, cleansings, etc., necessary to be dealt
with, are fully detailed in the Inspector's report.
Sewage Farm.—There have been fewer complaints
about this than in previous years, and with
a continuance of the attention now given to the
farm itself and to the water-course, it is not likely
to be very troublesome during the interval before it
is altogether done away with.
The main drainage is in the hands of a Committee,
but no decision has yet been arrived at.
Midwives Act, 1902.— In accordance with
Section 8 (5) of the Midwives Act, a copy of the
names of all midwives who during L905 notified
their intention to practise in this district has been
sent to the Central Midwives Board.
