M.D., aged 10 (case No. 109), was discovered in the acute
stage of the illness when brought to the Health Department
from school. A brother of this patient, who was attending the
Infants' Department of the same school, was discovered
" peeling." He had been ill a week previously.
Later, V.B., aged 6, of another elementary school and
who resided in Twickenham, was found in school on October
20th in the " peeling " stage. This case was probably the
source of infection of two other children who were in the same
class at school. One of the latter resided in Mortlake.
Enteric Fever.
One notification of this disease was received, but was
afterwards cancelled.
Erysipelas.
Twenty-five cases of this disease were notified during the
year as compared with seven for the previous year. The
attack rate was 0.70 per thousand of the population.
Puerperal Fever.
One case of this disease was notified during the year.
The patient recovered.

Acute Poliomyelitis.
One case of acute poliomyelitis, or infantile paralysis,
was notified during the year. The patient was a boy, aged 3
years. Soon after his recovery the patient left the district.
