" in public institutions there; and by the term 'Residents' is
" meant persons who have been taken out of the district on ac"
count of sickness or infirmity, and have died in public insti"
tutions elsewhere."
"The 'Public Institutions' to be taken into account for
"the purposes of these Tables are those into which persons are
" habitually received on account of sickness or infirmity, such
" as hospitals, workhouses and lunatic asylums."
From the above it will be seen that the death of any
person belonging to an outside district must be classed as
"Resident" unless such person dies in a "Public Institution,''
i.e. as regards Richmond, the Royal Hospital or Workhouse.
During the year 1908, there were 20 deaths registered in
the Borough of Non-residents, which on account of the above
instructions must be classed as "Residents."
