PREVALENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF
INFECTIOUS DISEASE.
Small-pox.
No cases of this disease were notified during the year.
Diphtheria.
During the year there were 16 cases of this disease
notified as compared with 11 for the previous year. Three deaths
occurred. Seven cases were removed to Mogden Hospital, being
43 7 pei- cent, of the notified cases.
Erysipelas.
Ten cases of this disease were notified during the
year, as compared with 23 for the previous year. One death was
registered as due to this disease.
Scarlet Fever.
Fifty-nine cases of this disease were notified during
the year, as compared with 46 for the previous year. Ten of these
cases occurred during the month of July.
Two deaths occurred from this disease. Forty-eight cases
were removed to Mogden Hospital, being 81 per cent, of the cases
notified.
Enteric Fever.
Eight cases only of this disease were notified during
the year, and in one instance the medical practitioner intimated
later that the disease was not enteric fever. Thirteen cases were
notified in 1905 and 7 in 1904. One death was reported as due to
this disease.
