Mortality in
age Croups.
As will be seen by the Table of Causes of Death, at
the end of this Section, there were 127 deaths above
65 years of age, anil 53 below one year of age.
Infantile
Mortality.
The total number of deaths under one year was
53; this is at the rate of 83 per 1,000 births.
The average for the preceding 10 years was 128.
Tuberculosis.
The total number of deaths attributed to this disease
was 45, being 11.9 per cent, of the total deaths as
compared with 8 per cent, for 1905, and 15 per cent,
for 1904. This is a rate of 1.3 per 1,000 of the population, as
compared with 1 for 1905, 1.8 for 1904 and 1.6 for 1903.
Respiratory
Diseases,
Respiratory 46 deaths were registered as due to diseases of the
Diseases, chest other than phthisis. This gives a mortality of
1.3 per 1,000 of the population as against 1 9 for 1905, 1.6 for 1904
and 1.5 for 1903.
