PREVALENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF INFECTIOUS
DISEASES
Small-pox.
One case of this disease was notified in January from
the Workhouse. The patient was a casual, who complained
of feeling ill upon entering the workhouse grounds. He was
isolated and the Medical Officer to the workhouse sent for, when
the nature of the illness was at once recognised, and the patient
removed to Dockwell Hospital. All precautionary measures were
adopted, and no other cases occurred in connection with this
patient.
