The whole of the north being bounded by Wimbledon, and
south by Morden and Mitcham. The approximate areas of
the Wards are somewhat different to those given in my report
last year, but the figures now given are the same as were presented
by Mr. Mountifield, your Clerk, at the Wards Inquiry
in July last.
Bye.laws are in force to ensure proper construction and
ventilation of the houses, the greater number having been built
in recent years. Revised Bye.laws have been prepared by the
Roads and Works Committee, and are now under consideration
of the Local Government Board.
Mr. Jerram, your Surveyor, informs me that 144 certificates
for new houses fit for human occupation were given
during the year, against 221 in 1908, and he has also supplied
me with the names of the new streets., etc.
