HEALTH REPORT FOR 1925.
TO THE CHAIRMAN AND MEMBERS OF THE
MERTON ANT) MORDEN URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL.
Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have the honour of submitting my Annual Report of the
year 1925, being the eighteenth since Merton became an Urban
District, and the thirteenth since its amalgamation with
Morden.
The birth-rate for the district was 16.1 per 1.000 of
estimated population, as compared with 18.3 per 1,000 for
England and Wales.
The birth-rate in 1924 was 16.6 and in 1923 18.1 per 1,000
of estimated population.
The standardised death-rate was 9.8 per 1,000 of estimated
population, as against 12.2 per 1,000 for England anb Wales.
The death-rate in 1924 was 9.08 and in 1923 was 8.1 per
1.000 of estimated population.
