(5) SUMMARY OF NURSING ARRANGEMENTS,
HOSPITALS AND OTHER INSTITUTIONS
AVAILABLE FOR THE DISTRICT
Professional Nursing in the Home.
(a) General : Nursing Institute in district has staff of trained nurses
available for attending cases in the home (including maternity cases).
(b) For Infectious diseases, e.g., Measles, etc. : No permanent
ments for nursing these cases, which would have to be dealt with as
they arise.
Midwives: Employment of, or subsidy to, practising midwives by the Public
Health Authority.
The District Council does not employ any midwives, or subsidise any
midwives. The Midwives' Act is administered by the County Council.

Maternity and Child Welfare.—Rear of Congregational Church, Malden
Road (provided by County Council).
Day Nursery—Rear of Council Offices, Malden Road (provided by District
Council).
Tuberculosis Dispensary.—Kingston-upon-Thames (provided by County
Council).
Venereal Diseases.—Arrangements are made by the County Council for
the treatment of these diseases, at various Hospitals and Centres.
School Clinic.—Surbiton.
