ISOLATION HOSPITAL.
There has been less pressure on the Isolation Hospital in
1923 than for some years previously.
314 patients were admitted in 1923 as compared with 411 in
1922, 493 in 1921 and 506 in 1920.
By far the great majority of cases of scarlet fever and diphtheria
occurring in the district are nursed in the Hospital. In 1923,
93.5 per cent. of the cases of scarlet fever and 92.7 per cent. of
the cases of diphtheria were admitted to the Hospital.
The usual courses of lectures were given to the probationer
nurses and six were successful in obtaining the certificate of the
Fever Nurses' Association.
The number of patients in Hospital on 1st January, 1923,
