CLEANLINESS.
The whole question of this condition is of extreme
importance and has received a great deal of attention from
the Health Visitor. It is of special importance to the
individual child and also to the other surrounding children.
A great improvement has been effected, but in this district,
at the present time, there is no public provision for dealing
with these children. Here it requires a combination of home
treatment, as well as at school, and in the majority of
instances the Visitor's persuasive powers and practical help
are sufficient, but in a few cases the improvement is only
temporary, and the same conditions that produced the
original state produces the same state again. The whole
question is under the consideration of the Committee at the
present time.
ADENOIDS.

of attention and has a serious effect on the mental condition.

condition having been treated by operation, so that the
number of cases were those actually existing at the time of
examination, and does not represent, of course, the
percentage of cases occurring amongst school children.
HEIGHTS AND WEIGHTS.

weights of the children examined at the various ages:—
