I herewith subjoin the number of deaths under one year of age, with the infantile mortality rates since the year 1891:—

This rate for the past year is the lowest on record, as
will be seen from the list given above; and it will be seen
that the first drop below 100 was in 1902, which coincided
with the issue of information on infant feeding and care of
infants, to every parent on the registration of the birth of
an infant. Of recent years there has been a fall in this rate
all over the country, due probably largely to the education of
the parent. Ilford has thus taken its share in this education,
with satisfactory results. Also, too, it must not be forgotten
