Towards the end of the year, the Chief Clerk, Mr. H. A.
Passey, was appointed to a similar position in the Borough of
Finsbury, after a long service under this Authority. Mr. Passey's
position was filled by the appointment of Mr. J. Henry Lloyd,
previously in the Public Health Department of the Battersea
Borough Council.
The following members of the Staff have joined the Military
Forces:—Mr. W. E. Balchin, Sanitary Inspector, who is in the
2nd London Sanitary Company, Royal Army Medical Corps;
Mr. A. G. Hubbard, who is in the Middlesex Yeomanry; Mr. F.
G. Boto, who is also in the Royal Army Medical Corps. It has
not yet been possible to find a temporary Inspector to fill Mr.
Balchin's place, but two girls have been engaged as temporary
clerks.
