The percentage of the births notified under this Act during
1914 was 83, an increase over the figures 80 for 1913 and 70 for
1912.
The percentage of children (89) who are receiving mother's
milk shews a slight increase over that of last year, 87.
The number of Still Births notified this year is 18; it is
noteworthy that this is the only reliable figure which is available
as to the number of Still Births in the district. It is a matter
which requires further investigation that one child in 46 born is
still-born. It is extremely likely that the causes operating to
produce Still Births are of the same nature as those which produce
