Respiratory Diseases. Excluding Consumption, 82 deaths were caused
by diseases of the respiratory organs, of which 31 were due to Bronchitis,
34 to Pneumonia and 16 to Broncho-pneumonia. The deaths from Bronchitis
and Broncho-pneumonia all occurred either in young children or elderly people,
the majority in the first year or after the age of 65. The deaths due to
Pneumonia are fairly evenly distributed through all the age periods.
Cancer. All the deaths from this cause were in persons over middleage
and nearly half the cases were people aged more than 65.
Accidents of Parturition. Of the 3 deaths due to accident or diseases
of child-birth, in 1 case the child died and in 2 the mother.
