Three houses were taken and furnished, and apartments
have been provided in private residences.
This work of relief is controlled by a Committee of local
residents of both sexes, and the whole of the expenses are
met by voluntary subscriptions.
I enclose copies of the returns for the Local Government
Board, the Home Office and the County Council.
A tabular statement showing the work carried out by
the Inspector of Nuisances during the year is also forwarded
to be incorporated in this report.
I gladly take this opportunity to thank Mr. A. Shail,
Inspector of Nuisances, for his valuable assistance in carrying
out my duties.
I am, Gentlemen,
Your obedient Servant,
A. D. OWEN.
To the Chairman and Members,
Hampton Urban District Council.
