is made of copper and consists of a cylinder which is
fitted with pressure gauge, and into which air is forced
by means of a pump until a pressure of 15 pounds to the
square inch is recorded. The same pump is employed,
without disconnecting it from the tank, to next force in
the fluid until the gauge shows a pressure of 45 pounds.
The amount of fluid used for this purpose usually
amounts to about 1½ gallons. A tap is then turned and
compressed air forces out the fluid in a flue spray, and
this spraying action lasts for about 20 minutes. The
fluid used is 6 ozs. of Schering's 40 per cent. Formalin
mixed with water up to 1½ gallons.
Infected linen, bedding and articles of that nature
are steeped in a solution of Izal. We have no steam
disinfector.

defective, the walls in one case being perforated with
large holes. This had arisen because an adjoining house

the process. The other dwelling house was over a stable.
The rooms, two in number, were badly lighted and ventilated.
This dwelling place was also declared to be
unfit for human habitation. Closing Orders were made,
