It will be seen from the following table that 240 samples of milk have been taken, of which 12, equal to 5 per cent. were adulterated, as compared with 11.3 per cent, for the previous year. This shows an improvement in this important food. Whiskey figures among the adulterated articles, and in all the cases the specific gravity was more than 50 degrees under proof, which warranted proceedings being taken under the Sale of Food and Drugs Act.
