Tuberculosis.
The number of deaths from Tuberculosis was 129, as compared
with 197 in 1918.
The following table shows the number of deaths from Pulmonary
and other forms of Tuberculosis :—
Pulmonary Tuberculosis (Phthisis) 108 deaths
Tuberculosis of the Brain (Meningitis) 9 deaths
Other forms of Tuberculosis 12 deaths
Under the Public Health (Tuberculosis) Regulations the total
number of notifications received was
Tuberculosis (Pulmonary) 258 as against 283 in 1918
Tuberculosis (Other forms) 74 as against 80 in 1918

COMMUNICABLE DISEASES—NON-NOTIFIABLE.
Whooping Cough.
Twelve deaths were registered as due to Whooping Cough,
as against 21 in 1918.
MENTAL DEFICIENCY.
Following is the number of statutory cases (i.e., subject to be
dealt with under Mental Deficiency Act) :—

VENEREAL DISEASE.
East Ham forms part of the joint scheme with the London
County Council and other Authorities by which arrangements are
made for cases to attend at various London Hospitals Venereal
Disease Clinics.
